Welcome to Part Two of The Essentials limited series. On each episode of this mini series, Cups N Cakes founder, Jeff MacCallum, will take a deep dive into the history of an independent act that he feels is absolutely essential to the music landscape of this country. For the second show, he looks at the history of Edmonton dance outfit, Shout Out Out Out Out

Shout Out Out Out Out formed in 2004 and were very active up until 2013/2014. Known for their insanely fun live shows, the band played dance music with the help multiple drummers and bassists, as well as vintage synthesizer equipment. This six piece act consisted of Nik Kozub, Jason Troock, Lyle Bell, Will Zimmerman, Gravy, and Clint Frazier. Between 2005 and 2012, they released three EPs and Three full length albums, received a Juno nomination, held a National Music Centre residency, did multiple tours in Europe and the States, and even found their way onto a bill with The Police and Beastie Boys in Baltimore.

Helping Jeff dive into the history of the band is Nik Kozub & Lyle Bell. Together they discuss Shout Out Out Out Out’s formation, their most active years that included all their recorded works, and where the band currently sits.
