Inside The Artist's Studio
Inside The Artists Studio was born as a recurring segment on the Cups N Cakes internet radio show. Previously, Marvin Greensborough would sit down to interview emerging Canadian artists about their recent endeavours. (Jeff MacCallum has now taken over as permanent host after Marvin's disappearance in the summer of 2017.) Music isn't the only focus as attempts are made to learn personal details about the acts with a comedic rapid-fire questionnaire.
Kristian North swings by the Cups N Cakes studio to discuss his debut solo record and the status of his former band Babysitter.
Steven Lind and Thomas DiNinno from Freak Heat Waves join Jeff to discuss their new album and it’s lengthy writing/recording timeline.
I sit down with Miesha Louie & Sean Hamilton to talk about making the new record, where the unlikely name for it came and how far Canada’s music scene has come in terms of gender equality.
Amelia Aspen & Doug Organ stopped by the Cups N Cakes studio for a chat before they left for sunny California.
Jeff sits down with Lyle Bell who is the principal songwriter for The Wet Secrets.
Kris Burwash drops by the Cups N Cakes studio to talk with Jeff about his ambient electronic project k.burwash.
Tim & Sage from Shred Kelly join Jeff to discuss their new album Archipelago, their love for music videos and the pro and cons to being a band in the small town of Fernie, BC.
Nick, Scott and Adam from Halifax’ Mauno swing by the Cups N Cakes studio to chat with Jeff about their latest release, the origins of their name and what it’s like being a band from an iconic music city.
Jeff sits down with Drew, Ruby & Mitchell from Abbotsford’s Blessed to discuss 2017’s amazing EPII, the addition of a fifth member and the recording of their future full length debut.
