Single Premiere: Ride Til Dawn - Fruit Flies

Saskatoon’s Ride Til Dawn return this March with their fifth studio album entitled The Glass Mirage. Their last release, Dawn, came out in 2017 and pushed their alt-country sounds to new heights. Already a well-known force in their home province, this new record is sure to put them on the map across the rest of the prairies.

The album will be released independently on March 31st, on vinyl, CD and digitally. It was recorded in January of 2019 in Saskatoon, and produced by Clayton Linthicum (Kacy & Clayton). The artwork was created by Benjamin Hettinga, who has done design for Kacy & Clayton, The Deep Dark Woods, Shooting Guns, The Radiation Flowers, and more. Ride Til Dawn will play release shows in Saskatoon and Regina in late April with Christopher Sleightholm (Snake River) and his band. Expect additional shows to come as the band plans to bring the The Glass Mirage to Alberta for shows in Edmonton & Calgary and are gearing up for the summer festival season.

Today we are pleased to premiere the first single from The Glass Mirage, entitled “Fruit Flies”. When asked about the track, frontman Mitch Grier said:

" Fruit Flies is my attempt at writing the kind of circular song that I’ve loved for years like those of Gene Clark, Fred Neil or Paul Westerberg, taking a couple of flowing chord progressions and looping them together. Spent a bunch of time in kitchens and dives and seen or been a part of the slow depressive cycles that thrive in those settings and that is what I tried to depict lyrically with this song."
