Regina’s Black Thunder sure know how to keep you in suspense. Their last effort, III, was released way back in July of 2016. As one of Western Canada’s most loved hard-rock/stoner-rock bands the wait between releases has been unbearable on their brethren. Then… finally… a few months back their new album La Fine Creata was announced. An album that was expected in 2019 and actually made the Cups N Cakes list of “Most Anticipated Releases” two years in a row!

The Cups N Cakes Network reached out to Black Thunder for a little intel on the album and the track we are pleased to be premiering.

CnC - Tell us a bit about the record:

Black Thunder - “As you know, the release for La Fine Creata has been a long time coming. We are excited to finally see it come out on April 3, though it is unfortunate that the release isn't going to be accompanied with tour dates for the time being because of Covid-19. We are anxious to hit the road once all this insanity calms down. The album was engineered, mixed and mastered by Chris Dimas. We had a blast recording with him in his studio. Orion Paradis handled the vinyl mastering. Once again Jason Thiry came through with some fantastic album art. The album will be available via Transistor 66 on vinyl, CD, tape and digitally.”

CnC - Tell us about the song we are premiering today:

Tony of Black Thunder - ”The song 'La Fine Creata' is Italian and it translates to "The End Created". While writing this album I was listening to a ton of Italian prog rock (thanks, cousin) and basically wanted to show homage to all the bands I love such as Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso, PFM, Le Orme and Goblin. The lyrics in the song are actually about a person who doesn't want to get old so they go through procedures to turn themself into a cyborg to stop the process of aging.”
