Video Premiere: Alien To The Ignorant - "Shatter"

Saskatoon hardcore champs, Alien To The Ignorant, recently released a brand new single called “Shatter” and today the Cups N Cakes Network is pleased to be able to share its video. In the spirit of quarantine, the band reached out to friends and fans to submit videos of themselves socially distanced moshing. The band mixed that footage with some of themselves in their jam space to make an incredible video that will forever remind any loud music fan of 2020.

Cups N Cakes reached out to front person Swade Orchard to find out more:

How was the video born?

“Myk (our bassist) thought of the idea. In the spirit of quarantine, he thought it’d be cool to showcase a collectivity of people and bands moshing to the song together in the only way they really could in this day and age. We then set out and messaged a bunch of our friends and even some bigger bands we’ve played with in hopes they would awkwardly mosh by themselves on camera. From there I just layered down all the best mosh moves atop of the previous music video I had edited of just us in the studio. I think it worked out to be a cool dynamic of the songs production, performance, and the ultimate payoff of people enjoying it.”

Are the any notable appearances in it?

“Myk’s friend Brock Lewis, who’s a bit of a closeted punk and a rock station DJ in Winnipeg, throws down in a hotdog suit. It’s pretty rad. A few of our friends from Red Deer bands pop up as well, of which I think had some of the best mosh moves.”
