Ricin Hider is the solo moniker of Regina’s Anthony Frank, best known as the guitarist/vocalist for Black Thunder. Under this name, Frank dives deep into the spooky synth driven genres of Horror Synthwave and Dark Synthwave.

Ricin Hider’s 2019 debut, Morte Del Campo, showcased an affinity for 80s Horror scores. It was an incredible album that deserved more attention than it received. This Friday (September 11th), will see a follow up to that wonderful release with an EP entitled Crawlers.

Like many new releases coming out at the moment, EP Crawlers was created under lockdown. Frank explains:

“The songs were recorded and mixed by Ricin Hider, and I got my good friend Paul Hutchinson to master them. The two tracks "Bride of Death" and "The Wusthof Wacko" are more in the vein of the first Ricin Hider release, and I took a little different approach with "Nothing Ellis to Do but Die By the Shore". I came up with the name as an homage to the two people that really inspired the song: Brian Ellis (Astra, Brian Ellis) and Howard Shore (composer, orchestra conductor).

For the album art I got the talented Barf Scabs (Beth Liber), who is also from Regina, to whip something up. I am beyond stoked with how it turned out.”
