Premiere: Hush About The City - Wonder

Those well versed in the Winnipeg music scene may remember a band called Blue Sky Addicts that were active in the late 2000s. Today we are happy to report that after a ten-year hiatus from music, former BSA songwriter, vocalist, and keyboardist, Dan Kelsey, has returned with a new project called Hush About The City.

Drawing from analog inspirations like Jonsi and Bon Iver and blending their sounds with those of electronic artists like Kasbo and Duskus, Kelsey’s new project shows a clear direction and a mature approach. His debut album, On Making Friends, is expected on 2 July 2021 and is inspired by his experiences over the last ten years, which include the death of his mother, a deep emotional awakening, and the hard-but-good work that occurs in the shaping of the human condition.

Regarding the new work, Kelsey’s explains:

“I think I’ve finally figured out how to sound the way I feel. It's a fresh start. This collection of music narrates the pain and confusion that accompanies the loss we can't escape in life. I feel so fortunate to be where I am with the trauma I lived with. It's important to acknowledge that, and part of my goal with with the album and my platform is to help others acknowledge who they really are and what they feel as well. Mental health for everyone, it can’t be said enough."

Today we are very excited to premiere the video for “Wonder,” the third single from Hush About The City’s debut album. Enjoy the video below and presave On Making Friends here.
