Video Premiere: J. Mann - A.I.

J. Mann’s releases are all based on a different type of art form. His last album Ten Animals (2018) was a nod to paintings, How to be an Ambivalent Negotiator (2007) to books and Too Much Theatre (2005) to drama. Most recently he released Take the Wheel which takes cues from cinema. The album was created in the most unconventional way with Mann actually writing a screenplay before crafting the record which makes Take the Wheel more of a soundtrack than an album.

The “soundtrack” is an eight-song offering that thematically echoes the spirit of the road trip. Musically, the album is far more electric than past releases interspersing 80s inspired guitars, electronic sounds, and prominent drum beats and rhythms. Today we are excited to premiere the video for the song “A.I.” The track is an indie rock song featuring reverb soaked trumpets and thematically asks: "what's more artificial than thought?”

The video we are premieing plays with the “man vs. machine” concept as J. Mann willingly submits to becoming mechanized.
