Today, Calgary’s Sled Island Music & Arts Festival unveils the full lineup of artists playing their 2022 event, which runs June 22-26, 2022. The annual festival presents a thoughtfully-chosen lineup of music, comedy, film and art in multiple venues across Calgary, Alberta each June. The names of over 150 artists revealed today are added to a list of more than 30 previously announced artists, confirming over 200 acts to perform at the festival from June 22-26, 2022.

As always, we are more interested in covering the Canadian acts at this years festival but we’d be remiss if we never mentioned some of the incredible international acts added to the lineup. Newly announced additions include indie rock legends Built to Spill, ambient singer-songwriter Grouper, pop-punk from Joyce Manor, minimalist indie luminaries Low, Seattle’s La Luz, garage rock trio L.A. Witch, rapper and producer R.A.P. Ferreira, death metal from Mortiferum, noise project Body Void, and the recently-established heavy metal outfit Worse, featuring former members of Pride Tiger and 3 Inches of Blood.

With that out of the way, let’s discuss some of the Canadian acts that we will be lining up for this year. They include local legend Chad VanGaalen, 2020 Polaris Prize-winner Backxwash, legendary singer/songwriter Julie Doiron, doom metal duo Mares of Thrace, art rock outfit Motherhood, Vancouver punk powerhouse Necking, the new “twangmo” project from The Courtneys’ Jen Payne, alt-pop trio Little Destroyer, garage punks Wine Lips, jangle-pop trio Motorists, alt-R&B electronic artist Janette King, jazz-tinged experimental rock group Heaven For Real, alternative singer-songwriter Marlaena Moore, adored singer-songwriter Samantha Savage Smith, local legends of true-school hip-hop Dragon Fli Empire, and Montreal avant-pop artist Hélène Barbier
