Premiere: Brick Road - Pollinator Prayer

Edmonton experimental wizard, Ethan Bokma is preparing for the third studio release from his solo project, Brick Road. Bokma has developed an impressive following with his time spent in Holy Drone Travellers and his work fostering the independent experimental scene through his label, Saw-whet Records.

Today we are very excited to deliver some insight on Brick Road III, an album which Bokma is extremely proud of, explaining to Cups N Cakes:

“I personally believe it is the greatest thing I will ever make in my life time.”

As with most of Bokma’s releases, Brick Road III is meant as one complete experience, but could be divided into two episodes: side A and side B. The first episode is more guitar driven and composition-based. The second is more spatial and much slower. Every track on the album falls under the same musical philosophy with different parameters per track.

Bokma explained to Cups N Cakes some of the intent behind the album:

“Almost every major aspect of my life changed during the recording of this album. The occurring theme of this collection of tracks deals with the sacred natural world and a personal love and worship of it, in tandem with the complexity of existence on an infinite plain.”

Brick Road III arrives this Friday, September 30th and today we are excited to share the track “Pollinator Prayer” which features Edmonton artist Sodium Light on vocals. Check it out below and check out past Brick Road releases here.
