Premiere: Trevor Sloan - “Cup of Sunlight”

Toronto’s Trevor Sloan is gearing up for the release of his seventh album on May 22nd. His music leans into 60s folk-pop with puffs of hazy psychedelia that transport the listener to another time. With the help of intimate vocals, acoustic instruments and old synths, Sloan skillfully crafts tunes that would fit perfectly in an old movie soundtrack that is telling some type of heart warming story.

The new album is called Sparrows Sing While Leaves Decay and it captures scenes of nature, love and heartbreak with a certain worn-in feeling. Throughout the release, Sloan recalls hangouts from youth, camping trips, visions of the future and fragments of seasons where young lovers and moody teenagers emerge.

We were very excited to deliver an exclusive premiere of the first single from Sparrows Sing While Leaves Decay in our Most Anticipated of 2026 article and now we get to premiere the video for that song which is officially out today. Head over to Trevor Sloan’s Bandcamp page to purchase “Cup of Sunlight” and check out his incredible body of work.
