Premiere: Self-Cut Bangs - “Baby Blues”

On October 16th, Calgary power-pop/classic-rock-revivalists, Self-Cut Bangs return with their third studio album, Growth Spurts, and first release in four years. Those four years were quite eventful for the band as the five piece celebrated two weddings and a baby. The band now contains two married couples, Cayley and Shawn Petsche and Nicola and Dillon Cavanagh-Whitfield, describing the dynamics as:

"…like Fleetwood Mac, but replacing the drama and drugs with more guitar solos."

Today we are very excited to help Self-Cut Bangs with their album rollout by premiering the song “Baby Blues” which is the records most honest and direct representation of the feelings and emotions of parenthood. Cayley Petsche explains:

"The words came to me a month after becoming a Mom and I recorded the vocals in one sitting. It became an anthem for motherhood, putting yourself back together again after becoming a portal between Heaven and Earth. Navigating that first month of love, sweat and tears."

The track arrives today with a video directed by Shawn Petsche and captures moments in time following his and Cayley’s young one as he navigates the world. Enjoy “Baby Blues” below and head over to their Bandcamp Page to pre-order Growth Spurts today. The vinyl is limited to only 100 copies so act fast!
