Premiere: ex-cowboy - Mr. Frog

We’re excited to premiere the new LP from Victoria based rock outfit ex-cowboy. After the release of their two lead singles “Inconsistencies” and “The Runaround”, their debut LP Mr. Frog comes out on August 26th, and is available to stream now below.

The band is made up of members of Circle of Care, Gnarwalz, and HAND. After years in previous projects spent home recording, the quartet took Mr. Frog into the studio with engineer Ben Wittrock and producer Evan Mathissen, who helped realize their vision. The songs run the gamut from New York punk inspired opener “The Runaround” to the chorus-ed out post-punk guitar licks of “Mosquito”. The songs strike a balance between being political and personal, with the class infused tyrades on “Gated Community” to the self-loathing of heartbreak on “Inconsistencies”. As long as it thrashes, and gets the crowd up off their feet, it’s represented somewhere on Mr. Frog.
