Video Premiere: Mother Sun - Train of Thought
The Cups N Cakes Network is thrilled to be premiering a live video from a perennial favourite of the network, Kamloops’ very own Mother Sun. “Train of Thought” is the title track from their new album, which our own Shaun Lee reviewed back in December 2022, calling the album “An ambitious and precisely crafted effort from a band that clearly has a surfeit of talent and ideas”.
Clean fluttering guitars reverberate into focus around a laid back groove in the band’s transplanted studio backdrop, filling the spacious setting and bouncing warm tones off ornate stained glass windows in St. Andrew’s on the Square in downtown Kamloops. From the band:
“‘Train of Thought’ is a playful bossa nova influenced psych pop track about the growth of a fleeting thought into a fully fledged idea. Following a spark to see where it leads, or leaning on advice from a friend.”
The video will be released officially on Friday, March 10th, and is in support of Mother Son’s excellent third LP Train of Thought, which is available on all streaming services, and available for purchase through Bandcamp.
