Jake Ian, Vanden Dool, Molan, and Kamancello

Jake Ian - Half Day Away

Genuine Alberta country tunes with a lot of honesty and that rugged exterior of the outlaw days. Half Day Away is built around Jake Ian singing his heart out with an acoustic guitar and the support of an array of the “old time instruments” to help set the mood.

Vanden Dool - The View From Here

Synth Pop from a small town, but with the big town feel of being able to see everything from the top of a tower. Vanden Dool tiptoes around darker feelings and sounds that he surrounds with mysterious keys and upbeat electronic percussion.

Molan - “I Am Found”

“I Am Found” is the latest single from the Edmonton lo-fi artist known as Molan. The song draws you in with a quirky scooping singing melody with quivering vibrato over a simple beat and a couple of slinky chords.

Kamancello - Of Shadows

Kamancello consists of Raphael Weinroth-Browne on cello and Shahriyar Jamshidi playing a Persian spike-fiddle called a kamanche. Their beautiful live improvisations on Of Shadows are a melding of musical traditions from worlds apart.
