Selci, the r.a.p., Sol Viator, and Maldita

Selci – Fallen Woman 1

Selci’s newest release, Fallen Woman 1, is eight tracks of alt-pop awesomeness. With lyrics of love, loneliness, and self reflection, her music takes contemporary pop and slows it down, adding in vintage synths and making catchy tunes bound to stay in your ear.

the r.a.p. – Velvet

This new release from The Road Allowance Peoples creates a listening experience like no other – their abstract use of spoken words along with an eclectic range of musical sources makes for an album with no genre restrictions, instead an entity in it of itself.

Sol Viator – Sol Viator

From Edmonton-based musician Sol Viator is their self titled EP, an avant-garde take on music from the Middle East. Created during the pandemic, Sol Viator was the product of leftover audio from old recording sessions reworked into stunning soundscapes. All but the opening track are improvised.

MALDITA – MALDITA

Toronto’s MALDITA delivers their ten track self titled LP. It’s full of hardcore guitar riffs with tight, quick paced drums, and aggressive vocals, all sung in Spanish. Despite me not understanding the lyrics, their firm grasp on their post-punk sound communicates all the emotion that you need.
