Nikolas L. B., Sanford, TDJ, and Bon Bon

Nikolas L.B. - Odes of Ilk

This five-piece from Montreal’s Nikolas L.B. takes a serene approach to indie pop in a way that blurs the edges between folk, alternative, and even a bit of experimental rock. Reminiscent of 80s love ballads, this release is bound to perk your ears and soothe your mind.

Sanford - Generation Having Fun

Each of these four songs from British Columbia’s Sanford shows her independence in full force, with its release produced, written, and performed by Sanford themselves. This release takes electronic and pop with hints of industrial madness and catchy melodies.  By the end of this release, you’ll find yourself digging through her discography for more.

TDJ - BACK TO 123

Taking inspiration to European house music, this release from Montreal’s TDJ will ring bells for fans of the works of Basshunter and Steinjo. Hard-hitting instrumental choruses and a butterfly vocal delivery makes for an album that you can’t help but dance to. Some songs can be quite abstract, and I always appreciate that.

Bon Bon - Bon Bon

This self-titled release from Bon Bon is a liminal trip through memory lane. The unsettling psychedelia takes me back to my misspent youth with its lush approach to song structure. Each tone will send a shiver to your spine, and you’ll wind up listening to each of these four tracks over and over again.
