Album Premiere: Workprint - Snake Of June

Regina’s Workprint have an interesting backstory. Originally started in 2011, Workprint was/is Rob White’s one-person studio project. His last release under this name was on Harvest King Records in 2012. The planned follow-up record stalled after completing the instrumental tracks until May, 2019 when the project, which had been presumed lost, resurfaced on decade old hard drive.

In the eight years where this record went from being “worked on” to becoming “lost”, White became known for a different craft. He has produced music videos for the likes of Megan Nash, Surf Dads, Black Thunder, and many more. He has also had short film work that has been internationally screened.

After the dusty old hard drive was discovered, White salvaged the old sessions and composed vocal tracks to complete Snake Of June between video projects.

Today the Cups N Cakes Network in honoured to share this piece of nearly lost art. Snake Of June arrives today via Grind Central Records, the album tells the story of a night shift at a nameless factory in the heart of opioid country. Dense guitars, dark synthesizers and distorted vocals help tell the story of the album, culminating in the lead single “Zero Days” featuring drums by Chris Dimas (Surf Dads). Previously only a studio band, Workprint has now evolved into a full fledged live act and is currently waiting to see if the world is going to allow them to play in front of an audience.
