Single Premiere: Upsidedowntown - "Badlands"
Upsidedowntown have been playing in and around Edmonton since 2012. The band has had its share of ups and downs (…and not because they were simply trying to live up to their name). Those growing pains include multiple lineup changes and more recently a terrible finger injury that rendered their guitarist Aaron Formaniuk unable to play for months. It was during this downtime that the band elected to bring in a new singer to allow Formaniuk to focus solely on guitar. When it came to filling the front person role, Upsidedowntown wanted someone that added a new dynamic to their hard rockin’ roots. The only person that made sense was longtime friend of the band, Jen Seal.
Just before the pandemic, the band managed to hammer out some of new tracks at The Audio Department and today we a pleased to be premiere the first track from that session. “Badlands” is Upsidedowntown’s first new recording in over 2 years and ushers in this new chapter for the band.
