Double A-Side Premiere: The Golden Age of Wrestling
Vancouver-based LGBT musician Jeff Cancade has had one heck of year. Under his Devours moniker, he released a fantastic album called Escape from Planet Devours that instantly got our attention. It was reviewed as a “Pick Of The Week” upon its release and later went on to make our mid-year list of the “Best Albums of 2021… So Far.”
Little did we know, while Cancade was rolling his Devours album, he was also crafting a couple new songs for his glambient side project, The Golden Age of Wrestling. With this project, Cancade combines elements of ambient music, Hollywood soundtracks, chamber singing, and the sounds of classic Nintendo games to create fantastic scores that are perfect for late night soul searches or elegant sunrise euphorias.
Today the Cups N Cakes Network is very excited to premiere a double A-Side from The Golden Age of Wrestling consisting of the tracks “matriarch” and “rottweiler.” We caught up with Cancade to get some info on these two new tracks:
“All of my new music is centered around healing, processing grief, and longing for connection. matriarch and rottweiler are escapist pop/new age instrumentals that I recorded during the darkest days of the pandemic, when all I did was cry and eat Skittles every night.”
The official release date for the Double A-Side is November 25th but you can hear both songs here one day early. Have a listen then smash that “Pre-Order” button!
