Premiere: Hermitess - "Artificicial Stars" (feat. Wanderingaria)
Through her Hermitess project, Calgary’s Jennifer Crighton gave us two fantastic EPs (Tower and Celestial) in 2020. Both were loved here at the Cups N Cakes Network with the second, Celestial, being placed in the top 10 of our Favourite EPs Of 2020. Back in August, we were lucky enough to premiere a music video for the track “Still City” from Tower and today we are excited to premiere the first music video Hermitess will release from Celestial. The video is for the song “Artificicial Stars”, which features Calgary electronic artist, Wanderingaria.
When asked about the video, Crighton offered:
“Aria and I made this video at the Idle Eye Collective studio space in Calgary, I'm so thankful to them for letting me use their wonderful space. I met Aria Jansen of Wanderingaria at Femme wave fest last Fall, and I was so excited to work with her in this track in spite of all the unique complications the pandemic posed. I do hope we get the opportunity to perform live together in the future, it's been such an inspiring collaboration! I have not felt at all compelled to live-steam during these times, but this video is more representative of a performance with both Aria and I playing our instruments, that is sort of a first among the self-made videos I have created for this project.”
