Hex Beat, Lyra Brown, Parkland, and Intervals

Hex Beat - A Series of Kicks

Hex Beat’s new EP delivers “a series of kicks” with some ripping bass lines and dissonant guitars, set to fluid grooves from the ‘kit. Toss in a round house of vocal hooks that will be remembered for days and there’s no way this one won’t knock you on your ass!

Lyra Brown - Tin Girl

Tin Girl is the latest release from Lyra Brown, a pianist that builds orchestral pop songs with keyed instruments and her voice. The album ranges from cinematic power-pop to stripped down vocal performances while maintaining a characteristic vibe throughout.

Parkland - Eminent Ghosts

Rob Malowany, the voice of Vancouver’s Parkland Music Project recently did a socially distanced tour across the entire country to promote the album Eminent Ghosts. The vastness of Canada can be grasped in the expansive sound of this alt/country/post-rock masterpiece.

(* Eminent Ghosts was just featured on the Vinyl Unveil)

Intervals - Circadian

Mind blowing riffs and technical mastery have become synonymous with Toronto’s Intervals and Circadian is no exception. This instrumental album is just as crushing as it is soothing with thanks to beautiful jazzy and dreamy flourishes.
