Gayance, KTheChosen, Behrooz Mihankhah, and Wayne Tennant

Gayance – No Toning Down

Based between Montreal and Brussels, Gayance is a Haitian-Canadian artist, and her new EP No Toning Down is a groovy blend of world music with an R&B twist. The first song “Meu Sol” jumps between English verses and a French chorus, which encapsulates her incorporation of culture – heartfelt and catchy.

KTheChosen - +Vice

From a Calgary-based master of the spoken word, KTheChosen, is +Vice, a 15 piece album with fascinating instrumentals and dense lyrical structure that display K’s ability as a storyteller and his unbridled moral fibre. +Vice has taken the tropes of a hip-hop album – interludes and featured artists – and utilizes them to reach the listener through his catchy beats and poetic flow.

Behrooz Mihankhah – Lydium

From Nova Scotia-based Iranian-Canadian composer Behrooz Mihankhah is Lydium, a 10 track instrumental album of beautiful compositions featuring an orchestral jazz sound. Inspired by the travels he’s made from Iran to India and finally to Canada. He uses his firsthand experience to blend the conventions of east and west, past and present, to create an innovative and expressive piece of work.

Wayne Tennant – Curfew Flowers

Inspired by artists such as Prince and Stevie Wonder, Wayne Tennant is an R&B/Soul artist based out of Montreal. His newest EP, Curfew Flowers, mixes funk and electronica to create a contemporary, alternative R&B sound that blends the lush soulful vocals of the past and the reverberated hard hitting beats of the future.
