Michael C. Duguay, Bells Larsen, Pantayo, and Taxi Girls

Michael C. Duguay - Saint Maybe

Micheal C. Duguay’s emotional vulnerability and passionate storytelling are widespread and traverse from one song to another. Saint Maybe has a flowing and cohesive nature which traverses effortlessly. If there is one song I implore you to listen to from the album, it is “Sonny No Army”. I have yet to fully dissect this track.

Bells Larsen - If I Was, I Am

Bells Larsen has a voice and truly has something to say. I do not mean his literal voice, I mean the voice of his soul. Everything he sings and plays, is said with conviction and envelopes the music with relatable melody. I must confess though, I am a sucker for acoustic and banjo playing together.

Pantayo - Ang Pagdaloy

Groups like Pantayo are one of the reasons I love working with Cups N Cakes. It gives me the opportunity to discover music I would not normally cross paths with. Pantayo set me on a path to learn and they are full of surprises: trading off vocal lines, instrument interjections, and then, the Kulintang. I have neither heard of nor heard this instrument before, but I absolutely love it!
