The Moon Runners could be described as chaotic, but I assure you, they sound nothing like a tornado ripping through Kansas. They’ve released their new single, “sleep_in_the_swamp”, and do they ever flex their musicianship! I counted out the timing for the track and I believe it is 7/4 and later transitions to 4/4. I think….
Joe Grass / Falcon’s Heart
I became an instant Joe Grass fan when I first heard mesmerizing guitar playing on Clever Hopes album Artifact. I actually contacted the band to find out who was playing guitar on the tracks! Voila, Joe Grass. He is one of those players who sits silently in the background, laying down takes which do nothing but support the song. So happy he has put together his own work with Falcon’s Heart!
Yves Jarvis / Block of Wood
The steadily rising Yves Jarvis, takes several more steps towards becoming a Canadian household name. May 19 saw him release his latest single, “Block of Wood”, an upbeat, extremely catchy, and at times, dipping into vintage vibes. Summer just became a little brighter!
Rich Aucoin / Synthetic Season 2
As promised, six months later Halifax’s Indie Pop mastermind Rich Aucion, released Season 2 of his 4 season Synthetic LP series. He created the 4 seasons as a journey through historical synthesizers. Season 2 conjures up vivid visuals of movie sequences with electric white strobing lights capturing quick movements on a packed dance floor.
