Premiere: Tea Fannie & Goldenchild - Okay

Coming off an appearance on our list of the “Best EPs of 2022,” Calgary’s Tea Fannie returns with her new music of 2023. Today the Cups N Cakes Network is very excited to premiere “Okay.” The smooth boom-bad beats were crafted by Edmonton’s Goldenchild and are a perfect foundation for Tea Fannie’s smooth, yet hard-hitting flow.

Tea Fannie wrote and recorded “Okay” in one evening by herself, essentially capturing a confident spontaneity that makes that track sound so fresh. The lyrics take us deeper into Tea Fannie's mind, showing us she's just like us, with vulnerabilities, and flaws, and she's working through it. Regarding its content, Tea states: "it's not aimed at anyone specific, just how I was feeling in the moment and it all just came out".

Behind the scenes, this track is already garnering attention will extremely positive reception when played live and even finding it’s way into an upcoming documentary on Telus Optik TV for Black History Month. On top of that, Tea Fannie will be performing at an LGBTQ+ event for inclusive music during Juno week. The show will be at The Center For Spiritual Living in Edmonton on March 9th alongside Dust Cwaine from Vancouver and more.
