Video Premiere: Cain Price - A Moment

Vancouver-based artist, Cain Price has been honing his sound since 2019. His unique take on folk music turns the genre on its head by using unconventional folk ideas like sampling, electronic instruments, and accessible pop melodies. Price first came on our radar with the release of Open Call which earned his a spot in our “Quick Picks” column with writer Brandon Kruze stating:

“The debut from Vancouver-based multi instrumentalist Cain Price, Open Call is a relaxing blend of jazz, folk, and lo-fi – soulful melodies and instrumentals. This is a release bound to make you close your eyes and groove out to its lush sound. Open Call takes pride in its DIY approach, a style I appreciate greatly.”

Today we are very excited to premiere a video for an old track from Price’s catalogue called “A Moment.” This single was originally written and recorded back in 2018. Last year Price was chatting with Chayse Spence, a friend and also videographer/director. Spence expressed interest filming a music video for this specific track. Price was onboard but felt that the poor recording quality of the original release needed to fixed for the video so he re-recorded and remixed a new version, specifically for this video. With the help of mixing engineer Cameron Gavin, Price went on to create an all new version from scratch.
