Video Premiere: Disaster Pony - “Angle Boys Of The Cosmos”

Last year, a new Toronto ensemble called Disaster Pony came out of nowhere to upend the world of jazz fusion. Their self-titled album was released to critical acclaim and even received a JUNO nomination for “Instrumental Album Of The Year.” Led by saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer Gordon Hyland, the band crafted a jazz album meant to be danceable with EDM exploration inspiring their musical escapades. Electric jazz, experimental textures, and instrumental soundscapes make the listener easily transportable to vivid landscapes, this is incredible music to pair with a strong audio visual component… which is what we’re proud to present today.

We are very excited to deliver an advance premiere of the video for “Angle Boys Of The Cosmos”. The band enlisted French motion designer Stella Particula who crafted a cinematic sci-fi odyssey. Our silver bodied protagonist lands on a barren planet which quickly explodes with life, what ensues is a psychedelic journey that delves into mass consumerism and its effect on psyche.

It’s a great pairing to a fantastic track and a good reminder of Disaster Pony’s self-titled triumph. Enjoy the video exclusively here until November 21st when it goes public.
